I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and the only issue I have is with the above Intel Graphics Drivers Windows stops them from running stating 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)' The upgrade is from Windows 8.1 to 10 there was no indication that there would be an issue when I upgraded it updated very quickly and efficiently The update was on a ACER ICONIA W700 Tablet purchased in 2013 I have contacted ACER and they will be not be supporting upgrades for this model Looking at the Intel site it says that support will be given for Windows 10 but the only link I can find is to: 'Intel® HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows. 10 32-bit (N-Series)' URL Firstly this is 32bit and not 64 bit?

Secondly it says that support will be through windows updates I have not had any notification for this on the operating system as yet Intel also do confirm that support will be given for this chipset on this page Stating 6Microsoft Windows 10 drivers for 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 4000 and 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 2500 (formerly codenamed Ivy Bridge) will include support for. For reference, WDDM 1.2 features are available on Microsoft’s Web site. This Windows 10 driver will not be which means that it will not have been tested by Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). Note that Windows will alert you with a message if a driver is not digitally signed but you can continue the installation. But I cannot find anyway of getting this driver resource either from Microsoft or Intel? Conclusion Acer No Support Intel No evidence of driver Microsoft No windows update Does this mean I will have to give up moving over onto Windows 10 and go back to 8.1?

Regards UPDATE Speaking on chat to a Microsoft Technician they have confirmed that they are working on a graphic driver update so we will have to wait and see. Hi Dominic, You can't get the latest driver from intel website. When you go to the intel site, it will prompt you to go to windows update site again. I had black screen for me as well, as when I install win10, I was connected to the internet, Win10 thus went ahead to get latest driver for all drivers, this resulted in the latest driver showing black screen. Lucky for me though, I have setup remote on my win7, so I remote and uninstall the graphic driver. After uninstalling the the intel hd driver my screen showed, as it is using the default graphic driver, the resolution is only able to show 640. 480. The solution was to install the latest motherboard driver.

I read it somewhere that the old motherboard driver is handling boot up differently and that maybe the cause. Phil, Maybe try checking your motherboard directly instead of through acer. You need to flash your bios (not driver) to the latest. Mine was a Dell laptop and showing blackscreen, so yes you guys aren't alone. I too have had this problem on my Samsung Laptop, It is also preventing me from upgrading my Samsung graphics drivers.

My question is; If I simply do nothing, will Microsoft send an update once the Intel and Microsoft compatible drivers are completed? Then all I need to do is wait for that update o be sent automatically from Microsoft through the usual updates provided routinely? If so please let me know cause this constant error popping up is rather irritating!

Thanks for the reply in advance!;). Your regional Acer support site should give you access to any model specific downloads, including BIOS and driver updates. You have to find and apply any relevant updates yourself. The BIOS does not block driver updates. The Acer supplied graphics driver will report a hardware ID which the generic Intel driver will refuse to update. If you remove the Acer driver completely, so that Device Manager - before any updates - shows the Microsoft Basic driver (or some other Microsoft driver), the processor will show its true hardware ID and any relevant generic Intel driver will install.

Outdated machines are going to get no support. My Lenovo G580 has failed to update the onboard Intel HD 4000 since upgrading 8.0 to 8.1.

Lenovo released an entire 8.1 driver library including the HD 4000, but no joy for the HD 4000. And no comment to our distress calls. They have also released Win10 drivers that work everywhere but the HD 4000. And yes, 64-bit is native to the original 8.0, and all of my drivers have used the 64-bit packages. 32-bit drivers were also tested just in case. The Lenovo HD 4000 is tied to an HDMI socket for an external monitor.

My probable point of failure. I believe if I am reading the error correctly, my problem is a mis-assigned IRQ. I miss earlier versions of Windows where I could manage IRQ assignments. That is the basis for my assumption of the HDMI socket. For 8.1 and Win 10, I have used every variant- drivers from Lenovo, IBM, Windows Update, install over, uninstall then install, uninstall and delete hardware in Device Manager.

The drivers install and I get good resolution on the laptop monitor (with warnings) but external monitors or using the TV are non-starters. I may try more variant settings in the (current) BIOS as well.

It may be time for a new computer. I like Win 10 better than Win 8. Best regards, cutter.
